TES Receives Outstanding R.I.S.E. Arkansas School Award!!!

The Reading Initiative for Student Excellence, R.I.S.E. Arkansas, encourages a culture of reading by coordinating a statewide reading campaign with community partners, parents, and teachers to establish the importance of reading in homes, schools, and communities. The first goal of R.I.S.E Arkansas is to sharpen the focus and strengthen instruction.  The RISE Academy program was developed in 2017 to bring evidence-based teaching practices to the classroom.

In an effort to promote the continued growth of the R.I.S.E. Arkansas initiative, the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) recognizes the top ten schools who have successfully implemented these strategies for their students.  On June 18th, Taylor Elementary was recognized as one of these top ten schools and received the 2019 R.I.S.E Arkansas award at the ADE Summit in Hot Springs.

TES commends the continued dedication of its teachers and support staff in receiving this honor!

Taylor Elementary Continues to Rank as One of States Highest Performing Schools!

Based on performance from the 2018 ACT Aspire test, Taylor Elementary ranks in the top 10% of all public schools in the state of Arkansas! The Arkansas School Recognition Program (see Ark. Code Ann. 6-15-2017) provides financial awards to the top 10% of public schools that achieve high student performance on the state required assessments in grades 3 through 10. For placing in the top 10%, Taylor Elementary will receive over $12,000 in reward funding. This will be the 8th consecutive year TES has received reward monies for its state testing.  This funding has been and will continue to be used to put the latest technology and learning tools in the hands of our students.  This funding is a big reason TES is now 1-to-1 with Chromebooks for our students from the 1st through the 6th grades (see Coach Frizzell’s Corner 10/30/18).  Our sincerest thanks to our teachers and staff for their dedication to education, to our students for their good behavior and eagerness to learn, and to our parents who place the proper importance on education.
